All Ph.D. students are eligible
to receive financial support for five years as graduate students.
Support is available in the form of teaching assistantships, which
enable graduate students to be self-sufficient. Several incoming
graduate students are awarded fellowships each year, and some
graduate students receive support in the form of research assistantships.
Teaching experience is viewed as an essential part of graduate
education, and all graduate students are expected to teach during
at least three academic quarters of their graduate careers.
